Sound binding. Previous owner's bookplate on ffep. Clean, off-white uncut and rough-edged pages. Wrappers are a bit rippled, but no water damage is evident. Spine is tanned. Signed by Cendrars and Dos Passos on page preceding title and frontispiece. This volume is number 160 of 300 numbered copies in the first edition. Illustrations are reproduced using photogelatine process in four-color separation. Frédéric-Louis Sauser (1887–1961), better known as Blaise Cendrars, was a Swiss-born novelist and poet who became a naturalized French citizen in 1916. He was a writer of considerable influence in the European modernist movement. John Roderigo Dos Passos (1896–1970) was an American novelist, most notable for his U.S.A. trilogy, as well as an accomplished artist. Color Illustrations; 9.5" tall; 156 pages.
