Embossed green cloth over boards with faded gilt lettering on spine. Edge wear all around, with fraying to top and bottom of spine area, bumped corners. Foxing and tanning throughout. Binding and hinges sound. Treatise arguing in favor of open Holy Communion across denominatons of the Christian (Protestant) church, primarily targeted at exclusionary practices of strict-Communion Baptists. Author was the Rev. Leonidas Rosser (1815-1892), a Methodist minister who served as chaplain to the University of Virginia in 1842-1843 and as editor of the Richmond Christian Advocate, 1858-1860. 7.5" tall; 237 pages.
